Our rural communities are facing myriad of challenges among them poor leadership, challenges of doing business in 21st century, poor development in rural areas leading to increased urban migrations among others. With proper financial literacy trainings, most of these challenges can be addressed.
As a community leaders we have taken initiative to undertake trainings in rural areas, colleges and university on entrepreneurship and leadership. We have trained different groups’ synergy of working together as groups and witnessed change on group evolution.
Some group have transformed to be serious investment group with interest in Government tenders and real estate , other group have transformed their table banking model to register SACCOS and have seen farmers register marketing co-operatives after training
Mindset among us young people on employment is also a big challenge. Most young people aspire to be employed rather start their own business. Through training that we have done in rural communities we have witnessed drastic changes among the youths and we believe most of them are now aspiring to start their own business especially youth led Agri business instead of being employed.
